Microscope dentistry involves the use of a surgical microscope with powers of magnification ranging from X2 to X24. Advanced dentistry benefits significantly from the precision that can be achieved from the enhanced magnification provided by the surgical microscope.

The VELscope is an Oral Cancer Screening Light that illuminates a patients oral cavity with light of a specific frequency which shows up suspect tissue as being more markedly different from normal tissue than can be seen under normal lighting. Abnormal tissue typically appears as an irregular, dark area that stands out against the otherwise normal, green fluorescence pattern of surrounding healthy tissue. VELscope technology looks deep within the tissue to where oral cancer and its precursors begin. The VELscope System creates a reaction that can make unhealthy tissue easier to differentiate from healthy tissue, and it is particularly sensitive to the early signs of disease.

The Florida Probe is a complete periodontal diagnosis system that allows a Hygienist to automatically record a patient's periodontal condition on a computer. The Florida Probe handpiece applies a gentle but constant force to probe the deep of the pockets surrounding gums. This constant pressure ensures that objective comparison can be made between any series of pocket charting made at different dates and differences due to variation in manual probing are eliminated. The system provides patients with a very extensive report of their current periodontal condition and can be used to compare the condition at different appointments so that any changes in the periodontal condition can be determined.
